A fateful story about the village Buchak not far from Kaniv. In the 1950’s filmmaker, Oleksandr Dovzhenko turned Buchak into “Hollywood on the Dnieper.” The village and the surrounding area became the “go-to location” for famous film productions like, “Ukrainian Rhapsody” by Sergii Paradzhanov, “The Ivan Kupalo Evening” by Yuri Illienko, “Dream” by Volodymyr Denysenko, “Bumbarash” by Arkadiy Narodytsky and Nikolai Rasheev, and “Ivan’s Childhood” by Andrey Tarkovsky…
